PIZZAS AVAILABLE BY ONE TWO FIVE

Award-winning songwriter and multi-instrumentalist Ruby Gill returns with her long-awaited sophomore album, Some Kind of Control, out March 28, 2025. An anthemic, choir-laced, poetic epic, the album is, in Gill’s words, “looser, gayer, and even more raw.” To celebrate, she’s bringing its ten body-focused, politically rich, and deeply intimate songs on a national tour across Australia in 2025, performing in the country’s finest venues alongside some of our most exciting artists.

Ruby’s first tour leg was a total sellout, lighting up packed rooms all along the East Coast. Now, she’s back with the second leg, hitting northern NSW and QLD—don’t miss your chance to catch her live.

Widely adored for her ability to stun a room into hear-a-pin-drop silence with unforgettably honest - and wryly humorous - offerings that can bring even the most cynical to tears, Ruby Gill has gone from strength to strength since turning heads and ears with 2018 single ‘Your Mum' (2018) which garnered millions of streams and a full add to triple j in its first week, and 'you should do this for a living' (2021; featuring backing vocals from Angie McMahon and Maple Glider) earned Gill the title of triple j Unearthed Feature Artist, with strong playlisting support across Spotify, Apple Music and Amazon. Internationally acclaimed debut album I'm gonna die with this frown on my face (2022) debuted at #5 on the AIR Independent Album charts and was nominated for an Australian Music Prize and Best Folk Work at the Music Victoria Awards that same year. The following year on November 7, Gill shared a heartfelt tribute to Palestine on her socials in her poem-turned-song 'Resistance looks like the sun on you', returning to official releases with the forthcoming album’s lilting title track exactly one year later in 2024.

Now, Ruby Gill is ready to take her boldest work yet to the stage. Don’t miss her live in 2025.

Featuring Greg Sheehan, Linsey Pollak, Shenzo Gregorio and Tunji Beier

"4 musicians sit in horseshoe shaped semicircle surrounded by an audience.
The lights dim, and a soft drone begins to sound.
Who will sound the first answering sound? ...we don’t know, but suddenly, as if by magic, it is there, and then …over there .
The next 90 minutes disappear, as if someone has wound the clock forward at double speed. but in that timeframe there have been numerous connections, conversations, emotions, surprises, silences …and possibilities"

BYO drinks & dinner is welcome. Doors open 7pm, music starts 7.30pm, please arrive on time so as not to disturb the performance

The Listening Sessions’ invite the audience into the collective musical mind of a group of musicians to experience an extended improvisation. This process focuses on really listening, an essential element of creating music in the moment. The audience is invited to listen in the same way and experience this creative journey that the musicians are making together. The musicians will create 90 minutes of new music by listening deeply to each other while improvising over a drone. Nothing will have been written or rehearsed beforehand. Nothing will have been discussed about the unfolding music except to choose the pitch of the drone that will be the foundation upon which the musicians build their music. It is this ‘Process' of creating the music rather than the ‘Product of the completed composition that is given precedence. In this way 'The Listening Sessions’ redefine music as a process rather than a commodity.

Emily Lubitz Album Launch

TICKETS

After more than a decade releasing albums and touring with award-winning indie-folk pioneers Tinpan Orange, Emily Lubitz has stepped out on her own. Her debut album, ‘Two Black Horses’ will be released on 18th July and she will celebrate with a national tour, stopping at historic Bowraville Theatre

Lubitz is a veteran of the scene, having performed on some of the world’s biggest stages and premiere international festivals. She has collaborated with the likes of Paul Kelly, Martha Wainwright, Jen Cloher , Emma Donovan and Mama Kin, and yet her solo work is imbued with the raw energy of a breakthrough artist.

Emily’s new record, Two Black Horses sounds like an old Hollywood film, starring Dolly Parton, Patsy Cline and Phoebe Bridgers, who go on holidays together and talk about their feelings. She wrote the album for her family. It covers themes of forbidden love, immigration, death, loss and growing older with love and defiance, all captured in an alt-country dreamscape. Produced by Emily’s husband and long-time collaborator, Harry James Angus, Two Black Horses is a deeply personal collection of songs that speaks to heartache, heritage and hope.

“Emily's exquisite, brushed-velvet vocal conjures a steady neck-hair raising waltz” - The Age

“Strikingly assured” - Rolling Stone Australia

“What is it about Lubitz’s voice that makes it so incredibly captivating? Her timbre is otherworldly; hopeful and vulnerable, yet potent.” – Beat Magazine
